A Program Built on Longevity
At the Growers company, longevity has been a defining attribute of both the company and its customers. Since coming on board the team a year ago, one can't help but notice the indicators of a thriving program being promoted. Efficiency, quality, thriving microbes, and longevity are these indicators.
Traveling to many of the farms that have used the Growers program consistently for years, these indicators stand out. Efficiency of the economics stands out at first when one compares the program to many competitive ones. Using what is already in the soil, especially at deeper levels, is effective. Quality analysis on these farms shows above average test weight forage quality or plant health. Microbial life in the soil is flourishing, and this is an ultimate key to a farm's success, both in production and economics. Walking these farms, it can't be missed that they have very healthy, alive, and productive soils. Longevity in these farms is noticeable since the soils have been treated well. It is exciting to see the vitality and economic stability this has fostered for the farms.
Dozens of farms we traveled to this summer show similar results from the Growers Program. From North Dakota to Tennessee and Ontario, soils were very alive and minimal inputs had achieved this. All of them attributed their success to staying with the program. Some had been doing this for more than 50 years. Multiple times, I heard, "It took us 2-5 years to really see the results." Or, "Once we got the lime on at recommended levels, then the farm started to change. "Or, "The Growers product is simply a good product, but the program is even better." Many crops looked very healthy, and the farmers shared their successful harvest stories or the times that the crop weathered a drought much better than most because they stated with the program.
We don't have the space here to detail a specific program, but a local rep will be best to help. Certainly myself and others are here to help anyone. A few take-aways for a new customer would be to pay attention to calcium, think foster life, and have patience for biology to come to life. Many have been successful before you, and that answer is out there. Well done to the long term farms of the Growers Program for showing us what longevity can be built.
