The Peaceful Farmer
Peaceful means free from disturbance; Tranquil.
In my extensive travels around the country with everything that is happening in the farming industry, I see many farmers under extreme stress and anxiety. The farmer is faced with high equipment and parts cost, high input costs, hard to find help especially good help, high cost for fuel etc. Along with all the risks they don't have any control over (lack of or too much moisture, unusual temperatures, extreme weather conditions etc.). Dealing with all of these costs and risks, along with low commodity prices, causes farmers to question how they can continue to do this and still take care of their family and keep the farm productive for future generations. Unfortunately, for many farmers today they decide that taking their own lives is the only solution. It breaks my heart when I read or hear about a farmer making this dreadful decision. I know hundreds of farmers that are the salt of the earth and would do everything they can to provide for their families and keep the farm running and productive.

Working at Growers Mineral has giving me a new prospective and appreciation for the farmer. Especially, what I like to refer to as the "Peaceful Farmer". A peaceful farmer is one that has all of the above-mentioned stresses and risks but NOTCH handles it with a positive attitude. They know at the end of the day; it's going to be alright. Tomorrow will come and it wouldn't be the end of the world. Growers' farmers tend to be "Peaceful Farmers". Being peaceful means you're free from disturbance or tranquil. Most farmers would say they are never free from disturbance or tranquil because they always seem to deal with something not tranquil or free from disturbance. The difference is how you deal with the disturbance.
Growers' farmers have the confidence that working the Growers Program (Education, High Calcium lime, Growers Mineral Solution fertility and observe) will many more times than not have a positive ROI (return on Investment) with less stress and work, because they let nature do its thing. On the Growers program, you use less fertility inputs and pressure related products (pesticides, herbicides, etc.) allowing nature to do the work as designed. Growers' farmers have less anxiety. They don't have to worry about what they have to do different next year to get more yield. They know their farm is stable and productive. They know if they stay on the program the farm will yield and provide a peace of mind. Take the worry out of farming and you have the Peaceful Farmer. Another trait of the Peaceful Farmers is simplicity. They know Growers is simple to use, a complete mineral nutrition for the plant with trace elements, non-corrosive, non-toxic with a low salt index and proven performance for over seventy years. When you know the product works and has positive benefits for the plant and soil environment, why complicate the process. Afterall 96% of the plant is Carbon, Hydrogen and Oxygen provided by mother nature. Create the correct environment in the soil and everything works in harmony as mother nature intended.
There's no question being a Peaceful Farmer is not easy to accomplish in todays farming industry. It's all stacked against the farmer. Big fertilizer, big equipment and universities work against the farmer's position. Their primary interest are their stockholders and continued grant money at the expense of the farmer. Take back control and work with mother nature instead and become the Peaceful Farmer!
Have a wonderful new year and enjoy the family!
